Covid – 19 Information

Patients attending Woodbury Park Dental Practice. In light of the UK governments removal of all COVID-19 restrictions please read all of the following information relating to your upcoming visit.

The practice is open for face to face pre booked appointments. The health and safety of our patients, staff and the wider community remains our highest priority. 

Where possible we still encourage patients/visitors to:

• observe social distancing,
• wear face masks/coverings, unless exempt, when within the practice,
• complete medical history and COVID-19 screening questions prior to arrival.   

These measures are important to help to stop people with possible COVID-19 and other contagious infections from attending the practice whilst protecting the vulnerable members of our community and maintaining a safe working environment. 

Many of the procedures and protocols that were routinely part of safe delivery of dental care are already well developed and practiced at Woodbury Park Dental. During the COVID19 pandemic we have upgraded many of these routines to ensure that we are offering you the latest in safe dental environments. The risk of virus particle contamination is managed carefully in all areas of the building and clinic room. Our staff will continue to wear high levels of PPE dependant on the treatment carried out in line with NHS guidance. 

Before Your Appointment

We are keen to prepare our clinic prior to your visit as much as possible in order to limit the time you spend in the practice and to allow us to manage your dental need efficiently and effectively while you are with us. We will endeavour to manage as much pre-visit admin and consultation with you over the phone, email and by our new online patient portal to streamline your actual onsite visit.

The portal allows you to update your medical history, review and sign your treatment plans, pay for your treatment and book your routine appointments. All in an attempt to make your journey through the practice as seamless as possible.

Please look at the following Woodbury Park Dental guidance that will help us look after you during your visit.

• If you are unwell for any reason it is better to not come to the Dental Practice. If you suspect you have symptoms of COVID-19 or any infectious illness please stay at home and follow NHS guidance.
• Please remember to log into your online portal prior to your appointment, update your details, medical history, sign your treatment plan.  https://woodbury-park-dental-surgery.dentr.net/ 

Upon Arrival

• When you arrive, after checking in at reception, we encourage patients to use the waiting room, wait outside the practice or within your car before being collected by a member of the team for your appointment.
• Please do not bring anyone with you into the building if this can be avoided. Of course we are ready to receive parents of small children and carers but please plan to keep siblings and other family and friends out of the building if they are not attending for planned treatment.
• Upon entry you will be invited to cleanse your hands with a hand sanitiser.
• We may request that patients have their temperature checked by contactless forehead thermometer if a risk assessment deems this is necessary.
• If you are feverish we will ask you to rebook your appointment for two weeks’ time.
• Receptionists are there to help you and continue to work behind a screen to protect their work environment.
• Ideally try to avoid using the toilet facilities during your visit to the Dental Practice, toilets are considered high risk areas. Please where possible plan your visit to the practice and use toileting facilities prior to arrival.

Your Appointment

• Many of us looking after you will also be wearing various levels of PPE but we are all likely to be wearing a mask as we greet you.
• We will invite you into the dental surgery that will have been prepared for you to be a safe environment. For some appointments your dentist and dental nurse will be wearing PPE with some extra layers during your treatment.
• The air filters add a bit of background noise to the room and your dentist and nurse may sound a bit muffled speaking in their masks.

Departure From The Practice

• We ask where possible for patients to pay via card or contactless payment methods.
• Treatment plans will be stored and available in your patient portal to review and sign online. https://woodbury-park-dental-surgery.dentr.net/
• All your treatments will be planned carefully and will be managed in a cool, calm and COVID-19 safe environment. There will be extra expense related to PPE and extended appointment times for some treatments. Your up to date treatment plan will have these costs detailed within it.
