What are the steps involved in a single implant procedure?
After your dentist has examined your mouth and determined you are a good candidate for an implant, you can schedule an appointment to have the implant inserted.
The dentist can usually insert an implant in one visit. Often a temporary crown can be placed on top.
Once the implant has healed, which takes a minimum of two months, you can schedule a second appointment so your permanent crown can be affixed to the implant.
You brush and floss around an implant like you do a regular tooth. Your dentist may recommend a special toothpaste or brush to help keep the area around the implant as clean as possible.
