My vision for implant dentistry at Woodbury Park is to simply make it ‘normal’. My job is to take you through the process as seamlessly and easily as possible.
My dental implant journey started in 2013 at the Dentale Clinic in Shrewsbury. Following my early and advanced training there, I undertook further training in Harley Street and then re informed my knowledge by taking membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners and continued on to the Diploma in Dental Implantology at the Royal College of Surgeons.
I have now started my masters degree in Dental Implantology at the prestigious Ray Juan Carlos University in Madrid, Spain.
My training encompasses all aspects of dental implant surgery, including extensive bone grafting and sinus lift procedures. The training has also taken me all over the world and afforded me the great benefit of being taught by the most prominent surgeons in the field of dental implantology. Now, I work as an implant surgeon in practices from Cardiff, Wales to North London, receiving referrals for both complex and routine implant dentistry, partnering with Astra Implants. I also teach and mentor other dentists to both place implants and restore them. I believe that dental implants are a normal part of dentistry and have allowed patients the world over to make a lasting difference to their lives.
From the very beginning, the focus is on you, your needs and mainly how we can help you to achieve a healthy and confident smile that not only looks good but functions well and lasts. We have invested a great deal in the very best 3D scanning equipment, allowing us to plan your treatment with you to a very high degree. We have also partnered with the world leading Astra dental implant system which is highly documented and offers you expert implant quality.
Our treatment co ordinator and myself are with you every step of the way to make sure that your treatment is as predictable as possible.
Are They Easy to Look After?
We are committed to long term support and recommend on going care. As such, we have the gold standard equipment to maintain your implant, in the form of EMS Air-Flow. We also have fantastic hygienists to boot! We will recommend correct cleaning techniques and and ask you to come back and see us on a regular basis so we can make sure that everything is as it should be. Maintenance is key and we have you covered every step of the way.
Which Dental Implants Do You Use?
I use Dentsply Astra and Hiossen dental implants in Tunbridge Wells. Dentsply Astra is known as one of the ‘Big Five’ and is one of the most documented implant systems in the world, having many years of research and a well established success record of stability and longevity. Hiossen are the largest dental implant supplier in the United States, have an intuitive implant design for certain clinical situations and together with Detsply they allow me to offer the very best treatment to my patients.
How Long Will My Dental Implants In Tunbridge Wells Last?
With the right care and if you remain healthy, implants can last a lifetime. I currently have a 99% success rate after placing over 2000 dental implants.
Advanced gum disease is often silent and slowly undermines the bone that support your teeth. After many years ‘John’ found himself with no upper teeth and unable to eat steak! I placed five implants that now support a ceramic bridge, restoring all the lost teeth and the lost smile! From start to finish it took 6 months to achieve this lasting and cosmetically great result…steak is back on the menu also.
‘Paul’ is registered as visually impaired and has greatly limited vision. Unfortunately a fall at home knocked out his two front teeth. I placed two implant supported crowns to restore his smile and replace the missing teeth in a little over 3 months
A heavily filled tooth crumbled and broke after many years of repeated fillings. An implant supported ceramic crown was chosen to close the space and now the smile and confidence is back!
After many years of failed fillings and crowns ‘David’ found himself with very few natural teeth remaining. A decision was made to restore all the upper teeth by placing four implants that support a ceramic bridge. This took six months to complete
Another case of heavily filled teeth and recovery from many years of dental neglect. No judgment, just a solution! Four implants in the top jaw support new ceramic teeth replacing all his missing upper teeth. Confidence and the ability to chew and eat restored in just six months.
A heavily filled tooth broke after a heavy fall. The space was restored with an implant supported crown in just over three months.
Gum disease resulted in the loss of the two central teeth after they had been loose for a few years. After three months this patient walks out with new confidence and a new smile.
Tired of loose and mobile dentures that don't stay in place even with denture glue? This patient was in the same position. I placed two implants in the lower jaw that support the metal bar that you can see. His new denture now clips into the bar, creating a denture that is secure and locked in, making eating and normal everyday life much much easier in about four months.
After the loss of the upper teeth, eating became much more difficult. The loss of the teeth also caused a loss in the support for the face and lips which can age you prematurely. Four implants were placed in the top jaw and a denture was made that can click into the implants, creating a stable retentive denture that never moves and never drops! Also the face has better support, providing an aesthetically great and long term result.
I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Gardiner. I found his implant treatment to be excellent. I fractured a tooth and was understandably very concerned. Dr Gardiner placed me at ease during the initial assessment where he explained exactly what had happened and clearly outlined the possible solutions. This allowed me to make the best informed choice possible. Dr Gardiner maintained the level of explanation through every stage and reassured throughout the process. I am happy to say that I am very satisfied with my implant. I will certainly use Dr Gardiner's services if I need another implant.
