What are the advantages of implant retained dentures?
An implant-retained denture can restore up to 100% of your mouth’s chewing capability.
Regular dentures only allow 15-20% chewing capability when compared to your natural teeth.
Implant retained dentures have a more natural look and feel. These types of dentures don’t require an adhesive like regular dentures.
How does the dentist fit the implant?
Just like with other dental implant treatments, your dentist places a small titanium screw into the jawbone.
Once it heals, the dentures can be attached to the implanted post.
How exactly do the dentures attach to the implant?
The titanium screw implant has a latching mechanism permanently attached to it. The dentures are custom-made, so they lock together with the implant, holding the dentures firmly in place.
